A London based music festival in the 1990s featuring shoegaze, and dreampop music. The design was rooted in dark fantasy adjacent visuals to align with the sounds of the artist and feel of the venue and overall program. The poster draws from the dark and hazy immersive qualities of the genre amid the subculture energy of the postmodernist era. Straying away from nostalgia and clear imagery, the poster uses texture and shadowy forms. The design project features all deliverables found with a festival, including a custom curtain design.
The original few directions for incorporating sub culture energy in the poster used a highly stylized text that felt better toned down. The original colors also varied a few times until one stuck, while most assets stayed the same.
