Veil of Memory is an exploration of how memory changes, through the medium of airbrushing and the feelings attached. Over time memory becomes more abstract, idealized, and indistinct the further it goes from the present. The visual language of airbrushing and soft-focus painting acts as a vehicle for the emotional and perceptual fog of recollection. As viewers move through the three rooms, the paintings becomes increasingly blurred and dreamlike, similar to the way memories degrade, morph, or romanticize themselves over time. These canvases allow fractured memories to be substantialized that cant live anywhere allowing them to be appreciated beyond the circumstances of life

This process featured painted and drawn, with the title text initially featuring “Of Memory” but it was later dropped. Airbrushed assets were digitally manipulated and repurposed as assets.
